Infuse your life with more creativity (and the gift of community!) with a brand new lineup of in-person & virtual classes this fall!
Hosted at the Red Umbrella Designs shop in downtown Winthrop, or from the comfort of your own dining room table!
time: Tuesday evenings, 5-7pm
location: Red Umbrella Designs, 235 Riverside Ave, Winthrop WA
Settle in for an evening with likeminded folks and share some creativity and curiosity. If you're joining us in person, we'll begin with happy hour beverages and light snacks (provided). If you're joining us via Zoom, pour yourself your favorite bubble water or glass of wine and settle in.
In each session, we'll embark on one approachable, fool-proof project together, focusing not only on the satisfying end product, but also on the important and healing practice of creativity in and of itself.
If you're joining us in person, I'll provide all the materials and supplies for each project. If you're joining us from home, your supply list will be things you might already have on hand, or will be super easy to find. In either case, you'll also receive scrappy yet honest instruction, loads of encouragement, and heaps of kindness.
You'll walk away with a completed project to display, gift, or use, as well as the skills to repeat as needed on your own.
Finish the evening by browsing the shop – in person or online – where you'll receive 10% off your purchase.

Project Descriptions:
Paper Leaf Garlands: We'll use watercolor, line work and illustration to create a cut paper garland perfect for your kitchen window, fireplace mantle, or doorway. Charming, playful, and perfect for the autumn season.
Personal Motto Print: Craft and illustrate your own personal motto statement in a simple black and white graphic style. I will guide you through the entire process, from identifying your values and clarifying a personal motto, all the way through an illustration technique guaranteed to create a print you'll be proud of. Framed, this will be perfect for a family room, personal office, or to hang above your dining room table.
Love Your Mother (Nature): This is a class for moms and their kids age 5-11 to take together! You'll create a nature-inspired collaborative project, using each of your individual strengths, abilities and teamwork. The result will be a display-worthy piece of artwork and a memorable evening together. Please note: Registration for this class is good for one adult + one child. This project is best suited for 1:1 attention. To be sure everyone has an optimal experience, if you'd like to bring another child, please recruit a grandma / auntie / special friend as backup, and register separately!
Modern Mountain Landscape Painting: Intimidated by fine art but want to create an inspiring piece of artwork to remind you of a favorite wild place? I will walk you step-by-step through the process of creating a modern, color-focused painting inspired by your favorite landscape. Plenty of inspiration images will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own landscape photo to use as inspiration.
Collage Thank You Cards: Scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving, we'll be focused on gratitude and creating a set of hand made thank you cards, so you'll be ready for the holiday gifting season ahead. Use found images, colors, and patterns to create your own one-of-a kind thank you cards. You'll leave with a set of 6 cards, envelopes, and a heart full of gratitude!
Potato Stamp Wrapping Paper: We'll be carving charming pattern stamps out of potatoes, then using those to create wrapping paper for you to take home and wrap your holiday gifts! At the end of class, you'll be ready for the holidays with sheets of fully recyclable wrapping paper and matching gift tags to boot!
PLEASE NOTE: Payments for classes are non-refundable, though they may be transferred to another person should you have to cancel. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If trip is cancelled due to instructor illness or emergency, full refunds will be issued.
If you are feeling sick or experiencing flu-like (or any illness) symptoms, please stay home. Thank you for keeping our community safe.
